Christmas is always a great time for innovation, new twists on festive favourites, nostalgia-inducing food treats, as well as catering for dietary requirements. Over the coming weeks, store shelves will be lit up with a whole host of festive goodies. Fortnum & Mason Christmas shop is open and looking beautifully festive. Product highlights include F&M Forever Crackers. Beautifully crafted using a rich emerald green fabric, each one is filled with bespoke items, before being tied together with a luxurious ribbon. There’s no bang, but the environment will thank you, as they’ll last for generations with proper care.
Selfridges its definitely time to indulge with Selfridge's festive offering. Huge range of innovative Advent Calendars and a personalised hamper service
Harrods Whether you favour the savoury cheese and chutney board or indulgently sweet Christmas treats, Harrods food hall has it covered. Stand outs include a magical selection of Rose Gold Cocoa Dusted Nuts in a beautiful presentation style drum. Cherry, Almond & Orange Florentines (such a moreish combo!) Savoury includes sensational traditional roasts, mouth watering starters (see image below) sharing platters, and decadent canapés. Desserts are jaw droppingly stunning (see image below) including a tropical Snow pal and some true classics with a Christmas twist, Paris Brest and Chocolate Profiterole.
M&S know decadence with their Christmas spread. Everything from festive fish specials including oysters, salmon, lobster and prawn cocktails and scallops. interactive desserts with white chocolate, passion fruit & mango snow globe dessert, which you can dust with coconut yourself to make it snow. Vegetarians and vegans will find a Potato, Caramelised Onion & Brie Pie and squash and spinach filo tarts.
Waitrose welcome more than 60 new products, plus 20 vegan products, including mushroom parfait & no beef empanadas. I'm loving their Balti inspired Baubles. And Heston's range always brings a wild card, and this year its no different. His pear fig mince pie in triple chesse pastry is ALMIGHTY. Perfect for those with a savoury tooth, this twist on the classic mince pie is inspired by one of Heston’s personal favourites - Eccles cakes with potted Stilton.
Tesco plan to introduce a huge range this year, check out the edible village cake in photo below, too cute! New & different products included Pork and Truffle Bon Bons, Whipped Feta and Mint Parcels, Scallops with Bacon and Risotto Starter, and a Wicked Wellington which is the showstopper in their vegan range, this welly has a pea protein base, supported with a juicy layer of mixed mushrooms, roast garlic and shallots.
Co-op has a range of interesting festive flavours including orange liqueur and whiskey. Vegans are catered for both in the main course and all the trimmings, with vegan no-pigs in blankets. The star-shaped dessert is sure to be a talking point (image below) full of caramel, chocolate and peanut flavours for those wanting a break from traditional pud
Asda are embracing nostalgia, on-trend flavours and supersized festive favourites ( Seafood starters are also big at Asda this year, with a luxury seafood platter part of the line-up They are also branching out from a traditional turkey, Tomahawk Wellington - topped with cheese and truffle oil (image below)
Aldi - Christmas inspired food has been turned up a notch this year. They've doubled their pigs in blankets range, to include "pigs in robes", "loaded pigs in blankets" "halloumi in blankets" too, and the return of the Pigs in Blankets pizza! Their plant menu has gotten bigger too, includes Cauliflower Popcorn with Buffalo Sauce, Jackfruit Spring Rolls. with hoi sin sauce. And party food selection is impressive, Hog Roast Bites, Prawn Shiumai, and Naan Bites. stuffed with Jalfrezi and Rogan Josh, little doughy balls of spicy joy.
Hotel Chocolat - What's Christmas without an endless supply of chocolate? Well Hotel Chocolat's “Rather Large” Christmas cracker is pretty impressive, containing all of the contents you normally find in six crackers in one.
