Innovation Inspiration from Speciality Fine Food Fair!

Happy Friday Foodie Friends,

This week I'm in London working on a whole host of projects for clients, eating my way round the city on a food safari and catching up with some food industry colleagues and friends. And of course, I visited the Speciality Fine Food Fair. Celebrating its 25th year this year,  its a great place to find product inspiration for your business, and to forge new connections. But if you missed it, don't worry, I'll be shining a light on the product innovation that caught my eye and brands that are really shaking up their categories.

As always, enjoy the read and watch out for part 2 next week

EMMA BASIC - CLEAN LABEL BRAND

Emma Basic is a clean label food brand that promises “never any additives”. It was the smells and the sizzle of the wok that drew me to the stand, as well as their crisp clean display of a whole host of delicious store cupboard ingredients.  The team explained to me that by choosing Emma Basic you can safeguard yourself from over 2,000 additives widely used in the modern food industry. Additives are sneaky. They can change colours, fake flavours, and make food last forever. While it would be easy to accept these additives, they never will. It takes a lot of work to make delicious food in its most basic form, but it’s worth it. I brought home lots of their products to experiment with, their soy sauce and dried porcini mushrooms.

BROTH WAY

Belfond is the producer of high-end quality stocks and broths. The brand Broth Way is a delicious drinking broth that combines convenience with excellent health benefits. They make this pure and organic product in the traditional way in their own workshop with respect for the time a quality broth needs to reach perfection. For their fresh organic ingredients - vegetables, herbs, bones and meat - they like to work with local producers. In addition, their organisation is fully committed to sustainable investments in energy and production to make their ecological footprint particularly small!

PUKPIP

Pukpip are real fruit snacks with a chocolatey twist, frozen from fresh to lock in all that glorious fruit goodness. The team explained to me that they are on a mission to help us all eat more fruit in fun, delicious and convenient ways. The perfect little pick-me-up for on the go. Their bananas are carefully grown under the warm Ecuadorian sun, then lovingly dipped in rich, expertly crafted chocolate. It’s the ideal blend of nature’s sweetness and a touch of indulgence, making these treats a satisfying and healthy option whenever you need a quick snack. Whether you're at home, at work, or on the move, Pukpip’s fruit snacks offer a delicious way to enjoy real fruit.
