Hello Readers & Supporters!
This week, we're EGG-xploring the stand out products for Easter, from stuffed and extra-thick delights to less known flavours, all the way to innovations in the original egg!
One of the standout trends for 2024 is the fusion of traditional favourites with contemporary twists. Collaborations with beloved brands like Kinder Bueno and Baileys are taking indulgence to new heights, introducing egg creations infused with popular cocktail flavours such as the M&S egg-presso martini egg. Brands are exploring unconventional ingredients to add depth and excitement to their creations, whilst sustainability remains a key focus across the food industry, with a spotlight on sustainable packaging solutions and single-origin ingredients. Brands are challenging traditional expectations with unique shapes and presentations and championing traditional breed egg selections, while others are introducing eco-friendly packaging concepts. Even convenience is not left behind, as seen with M&S's pre-poached eggs, making cooking easier without compromising quality.
I hope you enjoy this week's edition filled with del-EGG-table inspirations!
A very Happy Easter to you all, I hope the Easter Bunny is good!

PUMP STREET BAKER
Pump Street Bakery is a long standing favourite of mine, mainly because of their authenticity in what they do, but also because they push the boundaries on new product flavours. And this year, they introduce the brand’s first large egg, which is made using its addictive Croissant 62% Dark Chocolate. The egg comes wrapped in gold foil, accompanied by a seasonal wrap featuring illustrations by artist Jesse Bevan Brown. As well as its year-round Bakery Series, which includes brown bread, sourdough and salt, and rye crumb-flavoured chocolate, they have also introduced a new seasonal hot cross bun flavour, which brings all those notes of currants and spices to the bar.
PLASTIC FREE EASTER PACKAGING
Choco Larder have introduced a range of Easter eggs packaged in visually-striking, plastic-free packaging. Cornwall-based Choco Larder are helmed by Mike Longman, who started the bean-to-bar business in 2012 and focusses on quality ingredients and ethical sourcing and production. This Easter egg is made from craft chocolate and is presented in plastic free, recyclable packaging, making it better for our planet. Given that this unique packaging has a distinguishable honeycomb design, one of their egg flavours had to ‘bee’ honeycomb.
CLARENCE COURT, TRADITIONAL BREEDS EGG SELECTION
One of the most premium egg brands in the UK has introduced a limited edition 'Traditional Breeds' collection of some of its most popular eggs. Seabright Sage, Burford Brown, Leghorn White and Old Cotswold Legbar eggs offer an exquisite showcase of their most renowned breeds. Experience a Selection of eight fantastic eggs, perfect for exploring different breeds. An ideal opportunity to introduce consumers to a range of options. Timed perfectly for Easter and presented in a beautifully designed egg box.
MELT - THE WHITE LOTUS EGG
Handmade in London by world-class chocolatiers at Melt, this opulent confection is not just a treat; it’s an experience. Encased within its exquisite shell are seven distinct chocolate wedges, with seven different chocolate flavours in the form of fourteen wedges.
Flavours include dark and milk chocolate with hazelnuts, white chocolate and fruits of the forest, coconut, pistachio and raspberry, caramelised almond and matcha with cherry. As you gently unfurl this indulgent egg, it blossoms like a delicate lotus flower, revealing a treasure trove of chocolate bliss.
M&S PRE-POACHED EGGS
This is not just any breakfast, this is a very convenient M&S breakfast!! –M&S have introduced new pre-poached eggs. Available to buy in stores now, the ‘Perfectly Poached Eggs’ are splitting opinions with shoppers. The pre-packaged eggs come in plastic packaging and are sold still floating in water. All they need is a quick zap in the microwave and they’re ready to pop on a slice of toast. But with so much packaging and £2 a pop, not all M&S shoppers are buying into it.
BIRD & BLEND TEA CO.
There are also several companies diversifying to eggs, to take advantage of the commercial opportunity that Easter offers. One such example is Bird & Blend Tea Co, who do a wonderful Ice-cream Matcha, and this year have introduced a NEW, limited edition matcha-infused Easter Egg! Deliciously creamy white chocolate with their best selling, smooth Ice Cream Matcha, made from thick, handmade Only Coco artisan white chocolate. Wrapped in beautifully designed, 100% plastic free eco-friendly, plastic free packaging.
